2009 Château Haut-Batailley (Bordeaux - Pauillac, France) Wine - Red $84.99 (750mL)
Haut Batailley is classified as a 5th Growth from the 1855 classification. Under the control of the Borie brothers, it has done wonderful things over the last 15 years. The smaller sibling of neighbouring Batailley, of which it split in 1942. It also has an eastern strip that borders on parts of Latour. This estate produces an elegant Burgundian style of wine which will never score high on the Parker scale, but the European critics love this house. A sleeper wine that is always attractively priced for a Grand Cru Classé, it has the ability to age and gives much pleasure if you invest 10-12 years in the cellar.
