From the Saumur-Champigny appellation of the Loire Valley, this superlative Cuvée Historique is a 100% old vines CabFranc based red from an ancient part of the vineyard with clay-limestone soils. Florals, exotic spices, clove, licorice and plum fruits abound, the length is tremendous and the pedigree undisptable. Gold Medal winner at the Concours Mondial in Brussels in 2010. Stellar red for the money. Decant an hour + a must and pair with red meat. Alternatively, cellar for 7 or 8 years.
