Sherry is a fortified wine made from white grapes that are grown near the city of Jerez de la Frontera in Andalusia in southwestern Spain.

Sherry is the single most under-appreciated high end wine in the world. Many people have not had their sherry epiphony, all this means more for those in the know, at extremely attractive prices.

deVines and Pacific Wines & Spirits are thrilled to have Alvaro Ruiz, Export Director of house Alvear here for a rare monday night stand-up tasting.

Alvear dates back to 1729, and is surely one of the linch pins in the Montilla-Morilles region. We’ll sample from the driest Fino, to Montillado, Criadera to the dessert sweet Pedro Ximenez (PX’s) while you learn about how Sherry is made, the Solera method etc and the fantastic food pairing possibilities. Don’t miss this!
