deVines has been buying Bordeaux Futures for our customers in great years for a long time – 2005, 2009, 2010, 2015, 2016 were great successes for us, and it looks like the upcoming 2018 Futures campaign is yet another Vintage of the Century to be added to that list.

For those who have good storage at home along with time, patience and money, purchasing some of the 2018’s to lay down is a smart move. In ten to twenty years time, you will have some wondrous wines to open for friends and family alike.

The 2018 Bordeaux Futures Campaign is ending at midnight, July 6, 2019. There is still many wines for sale at all price ranges from all the major appellations. As is custom, you buy and pay for the wines now, and they will come in two years time in 2021.

Check out current offerings here..

Introducing Champagne La Rogerie

Growers Champagne is beginning to really push the establish big houses and the newly arrived Champagne La Rogerie is an impressive statement to this trend. Justine and Francois Petit-Boxler own this tiny (0.6 ha) new domaine that only releases small batch Champagne.

New to deVines are two of their gems – the 503 (yes, you read correctly) bottle production of their Cuvée “La Grande Vie” , a 100% Chardonnay from Grand Cru vineyards in Avize made from mainly the 2013 harvest with some reserves from 2004 to 2012. Presented in six different bottles, designed by the artist and friend Nicolas Maitrot, meant to represent celebrating life in six different ways. The boxes mirror the foil in this exquisite collection. The second is a vintage dated Blanc de Blancs from the great 2008 vintage, aged on lees for 96 months!! You will agree the packaging is unique and fascinating!

Situated between the current darling of Champagne – Selosse and Louis Roederer of Cristal fame, there is nothing but upside for La Rogerie. The guard seems to be shifting, with young generations bringing in new thoughts in how to create beautiful, high quality wines, and bringing in their fresh ideas that will continue to remold the region over the years. You owe it to yourself to experience this exciting new producer, but don’t wait too long, with small production, we are just greatful just to get a few six packs!

NV Champagne La Rogerie La Grande Vie Blanc de Blancs – Collection 6 – Edition “Moon Vision” (Champagne, France) – $114.99

2008 Champagne La Rogerie Heroine Blanc de Blancs (Champagne, France) – $134.99

Lopez de Heredia New Arrivals

We have received our annual allotment of R. Lopez de Heredia wines for the year (and the allocations keep getting smaller and smaller as world wide demand far outstrips supply). One of our very favourite houses anywhere, there are very few wineries in Spain… in the world for that matter, whose name conjures up the heritage, prestige and adherence to old world wine-making quite like R. López de Heredia. Little about this winery has changed in the 140 + years since it’s founding by Don Rafael López de Heredia. Founded in 1877, the family adheres to a winemaking doctrine blueprinted in the 1880’s – to make wine only from their own vineyards.

Located in the historic town of Haro, Heredia was the first to establish their winery next to the train station (for easy access to transporting their wines abroad). This area is known as ‘Station District’, there are seven famous wineries that make up this Golden Mile of Rioja. Renown for holding their Rioja wines till they think it is ready, we are pleased to offer the 2009 Cubillo Crianza, 2006 Tondonia Reserva, 2007 Bosconia Reserva and the very rare 2005 Tondonia Reserva Blanco, all classic wines that are especially well priced given their high quality.

Quantities are extremely limited so get yours sooner than later. Pictured left to right:

2005 Lopez de Heredia Vina Tondonia Reserva Blanco (Rioja, Spain) – $69.99
2009 Lopez de Heredia Vina Cubillo Crianza (Rioja, Spain) – $39.99
2007 Lopez de Heredia Vina Bosconia Reserva (Rioja, Spain) – $54.99
2006 Lopez de Heredia Vina Tondonia Reserva (Rioja, Spain) – $69.99
