This talented winemaker also creates her own labels for her wines and we’ve beenn priviledged to have her visit us in-store a couple of times over the years.
Our feature this week is her Caminos del Bonhomme Cabernet Sauvignon – this comes from a single parcel of Cabernet Sauvignon, which grows on the radiant slopes of the Sierra de L’Ombría near Alicante, has been striving these past thirty years for a balance and a way to adapt to the Spanish climate. It has succeeded. These grapes from this privileged valley of Valencia demonstrate perfect ageing attributes and are cared for 22-24 months in French Taransaud oak barrels with diligent attention paid to the lees. Ripe without excess, with blackcurrants, forest bog notes, is medium-bodied in a supple frame with hints of pepper, prunes and cocoa on the smooth finish. Try pairing with a slow cooked beef stew.
