Our online feature this week is the Bailly Lapierre Saint-Bris Sauvignon Blanc (Burgundy, France) – $25.49 , regularly $30.99.

Saint-Bris is an Appellation d’origine contrôlée (AOC) for white wine in the Burgundy wine region of France. It is located around the village of Saint-Bris-le-Vineux in the Yonne department, a few kilometers southwest of the Chablis AOC area, and southeast of the city of Auxerre. Saint-Bris is unique in that it is the only appellation in Burgundy that allows for the Sauvignon (Blanc and Gris) to be planted instead of the requisite Chardonnay or Aligote grapes allowed elsewhere in Burgundy.

Bailly Lapierre is cooperative that feature 430 winegrowers and has been around since 1972. It is located In Auxerrois, at the northern limits of Burgundy. The house produces refreshing, balanced and serious Cremant de Bourgogne sparkling wines from their unique and distinctive terroir.

Our feature this week is their Saint-Bris Sauvignon, made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc – it is an elegant, mineral-rich Sauvignon Blanc with Burgundian finesse. It balances crisp citrus, herbal nuances, and subtle stone fruit – finished with an unique herbal touch, floral notes and clean minerality. It’s a standout choice for seafood and cheese, offering a sophisticated alternative to both Chablis and crisp Loire wines. A lovely ‘baby’ Sancerre that doesn’t break the bank! Try with shellfish or a seafood stew.

Prost!
