In celebration of Canada Day, deVine will hold its annual Canadian Wine Festival this coming saturday at the store from noon to 4pm. A $15 admission fee (all in support of the Alberta Council of Women’s Shelters – ACWS) will allow you the opportunity to sample more than 50 Canadian wines ranging from sparkling, white, reds and dessert wines.  No pre-registration is required as this is a drop-in event.  While you’re in the store, don’t forget to bid on the over fifty auction items, all on display for your perusing.

Canadian wines have come a long way in the last few years, with dramatic improvements. The whites are excellent values while the reds are distinctive albeit not cheap. As usual, our agent friends will be on hand to chat and answer any questions you may have about the wines. Some of the wineries sampled include…

Mission Hill, Joie, Cedar Creek,  Coytoes Run, Stratus, Gehringer Brothers, Lake Breeze, Sumac Ridge, Nichol Estate Winery, Kettle Valley, Road 13, Quails’ Gate, Township 7, Le Vieux Pin, Hillside Estate, Vineland, 8th Generation, Therapy Vineyards, Penny Ridge,  Jackson Triggs, Domaine Pinnacle, Fork in the Road, Henry of Pelham, Lailey, 13th Street and Gray Monk.

If you cannot make it to the event, you can still help the ACWS by placing an online bid  here: http://www.devinewines.ca/alfresco_auction.htm

However, we do encourage you to plan your Saturday around the City Market and then our Canadian Wine Festival!
