For 23 years Patrick has worked to spread his knowledge and love of Saké, and in 2018 was certified as Western Canada’s only Saké Samurai (an individual who delves into the understanding of Saké as well as Japanese culture) in a 2018 ceremony in Kyoto.
Along with this title, Patrick is the pioneer of Premium Saké in western Canada, President of Blue Note Wine & Spirits, Past President of the Saké Association of British Columbia, Chair of Vancouver Saké Fest, studied the Japanese language in Tokyo, and has a BA (U.Vic.) in Pacific & Oriental Studies with a major in Japan. Suffice to say, if you want to learn about Saké, Patrick is the one to teach you – and there is a lot to learn about Saké!
