Castello Banfi dating from the early 1910’s is a family-owned vineyard estate and winery located in the Brunello region of Tuscany. This award-winning estate was founded on the philosophy of blending tradition with innovation, and is recognized as a pioneer in elevating the standards of Italian winemaking.
The Aska is their venture into the Bolgheri realm. From this now famous coastal region (home of several top-drawer Super Tuscans), this is a wine since 2012 made with mostly Cabernet Sauvignon and some Cabernet Franc (no Sangiovese), this is a deep ruby red with violet reflections, with a bouquet of red berries, blueberries and plum jam that are followed by hints of tobacco and licorice. Finishes with a well rounded, velvety tannins and a persistent finish.
