Back on 1971 when Susan Sokol and Bill Blosser planted their first vines in the Dundee Hills AVA (American Viticultural Area) of the Willamette Valley in Oregon, there was no wine industry in the area. Nowadays, there are over 900 wineries..
Now the second generation, led by son Alex Sokol Blosser is the President and Winemaker who creates world class quality wines that are produced sustainably, mindful of the environment, that express the distinctive flavors of their hillside vineyards.
The weekly special this week is their Evolution Chardonnay made with fruit from the Willamette Valley – Dangerously floral and fruit-driven (pears & green apples) with a crisp refreshing, creamy finish. The oak is well managed. This bottle of chardonnay makes enjoying a young chardonnay wine so easy to drink and share. It pairs with our favorite chicken curries, or when you’re craving fish and chips – just for the halibut, a Pacific Northwest favorite.
